Pierre Chapo S10 Lounge Chairs France, 1964

Stunning pair of S10 lounge chairs designed by Pierre Chapo and manufactured in his own atelier in France, 1964. These chairs have a solid elm wooden frame which has an exquisite detailed structure which is refined with his trademark mortise and tenon joints. This is the assembly princinple which allowed Chapo to extend his catalog in 1964. The S10 became quickly one of the leading models at the Chapo gallery. The chairs have their original natural leather which is in fantastic condition with a beautiful patina which gives the chairs a lot of extra character. These chairs are very early productions, the woodworking details of this design are visible in the book by M Hagen gallery, page 55. These chaire are super rare and look great in a pair.
