A pair of Swedish period Gustavian side chairs from the 19th century. These antique chairs from Sweden have an airy design quality to them with their open style backs, topped with a rectangular-shaped upper top rail which frames the elegant cutout backsplat of halved-moon shapes joining at center with a floral medallion is carved at center of a curvy x-shape design. The skirt is plain and simple. The chairs are raised by a pair of turned legs at front with sabre legs at back. Seats have been newly upholstered in a neutral Belgian linen. This pair of Swedish period Gustavian chairs would be quite welcoming placed within an entry foyer, or perhaps used at far ends of a coffee table and sofa seating arrangement.
