The side table and stool from the SoShiro Pok collection are hand-carved in Italy from solid oak, finished in turtle dove grey, and embellished with inlaid polished marble gems. These ergonomic wooden 3-legged accent furniture items have an elegant upward curve with a gracefully rounded shape and edges that beautifully present the coloured-marble gems. The side table can also be used as a tray table as the carved openings serve as handles for easy mobility.
The Pok collection celebrates the artistry of hand-crafted beadwork made by the Pokot women in Northwest Kenya. Shiro Muchiri, the designer, combines their artistic cultural heritage with contemporary design. The side table and stool are influenced by the traditional Pokot stool. The grey colour reflects the arid climate of the Pokot habitat, and the marbles are inspired by the complex and vibrant beadwork.
