A beautifully designed, richly, and deeply blue-colored/ glazed ceramic large bowl/ tray by famed Swedish designer Carl-Harry Stålhane for Rörstrand, Sweeden. The craftsmanship and color are stunning. A quite hefty and sizeable work.
Carl-Harry Stalhane (1920-90) was one of the leading ceramic designers in Sweden during the 20th Century. He joined Rorstrand as a ceramics painter in 1939 where he worked with a number of prominent designers including acting as an assistant to famed artist Gunnar Nylund. Stalhane became well known in the 1950s for his biomorphic-shaped vessels and use of hares fur glazes.
Signed and marked by Stalhane on the base with his traditional “CHS” and crown/ Rorstrand mark.
Would make for a great addition to any Mid-Century Modern pottery and ceramics collection or wonderful stand-alone piece in about any setting, modern or otherwise.
Dimensions: 2″ High. 12″ Wide, 7.75″ Deep.
