19th Century Regency Mahogany Writing Table

This handsome mahogany desk has been made in the Regency style in England, circa 1840. The top is covered in an outstanding olive-green leather, which has patinated wonderfully, and has been trimmed in marvelous gold tooling. The desk has two drawers, each with a ring pull. Four turned and tapered legs lift the table, providing a 23 1/2? H knee clearance. These extraordinary legs have a reeded motif, seen often in the Regency style.
